Disruption from blasting operations and drilling noises will peak when the tunnel front is nearest to homes. The noise will decline as work on the tunnel progresses.
Henriksdal
We are now constructing a technology tunnel inside the mountain at Henriksdalsberget. There are many homes on the mountain, and they will be affected throughout the entire construction period. As the work is taking place on several different fronts, there will be a number of blasting operations on every weekday. We have permission to carry out disruptive work between 7am and 10pm on weekdays, according to Swedish Environmental Protection Agency guidelines.
Structure-borne noise will be louder when the tunnel front is directly beneath your home. The disruption will then decrease.
Find out more about how Henriksdal residents will be affected by the blasting operations.
Bromma-Sickla wastewater tunnel
The wastewater tunnel will be built in the rock far below the surface at a rate of about 20 metres a week. It is thought that disruption from vibration will peak at about 10 weeks while the tunnelling work is directly beneath a certain area. The tunnel work will then move on and you will no longer be affected by either noise or vibration.
Anyone living along the planned route of the tunnel will experience the following noise pattern:
- increasing noise and vibration as we approach with tunnel blasting. Two or so blasting operations per day are planned at each tunnel front.
- this will be followed by ongoing noise and vibration when we are directly beneath, and finally
- decreasing noise and vibration when the tunnel blasting work moves on.
