The establishment zone at the foot of the sledging hill in Smedslätten (see map) will be fenced in when tunnel construction commences, in January 2020. This zone is indicated by the black dashed line in the illustration below. We will be placing site huts, vehicles and materials required for the work in these zones.
Work will take place between the hours of 7am and 10pm on weekdays. The further away from the zone you are, the less disruptive noise you will hear. We will restore the area in consultation with the landowner when construction of the tunnel is complete.

We will need to remove rock spoil from the site during the construction period, which means that trucks will be travelling to and from the establishment zone. The transport route from Smedslätten is indicated on the map and travels northwards towards Drottningholmsvägen via Alviksvägen.

A "transport movement" is a one-way truck journey.

We plan to build a 30 metre high chimney in the woods in Smedslätten to vent air from the section of tunnel called the Bromma Tunnel (from Åkeshov to the Lake Mälaren stretch). Malodorous compounds in the air will be cleansed by photo oxidation and activated carbon filters and then released via the chimney. The air released will be odour-free. The chimney will have an external diameter of about 1.4 metres.
The image present a montage of what the chimney can look like, seen from the woods and also from the water. The lower section will be finished in dark brown to match tree trunks and white at the top to blend in with the sky. In the image above, the chimney colour has been heightened with grey to render it visible.
Air from the south suburbs tunnel from the Lake Mälaren stretch to Sickla) will be vented in an existing chimney (80 metres high) in Sickla.
