Stockholm's future wastewater treatment
In a growing city, we need to take care of our water. In order to be able to treat all wastewater in the future, Henriksdal's wastewater treatment plant is being developed into one of the world's most modern. Bromma wastewater treatment plant will be shut down and a new sewer tunnel is being built from Bromma to Henriksdal.
The project is necessary for us in order to cope with the rapid population increase and live up to the increasingly stringent environmental requirements that Sweden has committed to. The project will reduce the emissions of nitrogen, phosphorus and microplastics released into the Baltic Sea. In addition, the water quality in Lake Mälaren will be improved.
